- described by name, pure or desaturated and value or lightness
- chroma
- how pure a hue is in relation to gray
- saturation
- the degree of purity of a hue
- intensity
- the brightness or dullness of a hue
- luminance/value
- a measuure of the amount of light reflected from a hue
- shade
- a hue produced by the addition of black
- tint
- a hue produced by the addition of white
- subtractive color method
- mixed colors through painting
- additive color method
- misxed colors digitally
- primary color
- basic colors that can not be created by mixing with others
- secondary colors
- colors acheived by mixing primary colors
- tertiary
- colors created by mixing primary colors
- color wheel
- circle with primary, secondary, and tertiary colors arranged in a chromatic relationship
- complementary colors
- colors located opposite of each other on the color wheel
- analogous color
- colors located close together on the color wheel
